Sweet Pleasures

With the proliferation of pre-frozen grocery store cakes that are filled with stabilizers and artificial fats, there is a need for beautiful, fresh, delicious desserts that celebrate excellent ingredients, without additives and without excess sugars.

Ruth Wells Fischer has been a baking enthusiast for most of her life. Learning the basics at her grandmothers' and mother's sides, she went on to study at The Restaurant School in Philadelphia and Chicago's French Pastry School. She launched "Sweet Pleasures" in February 2009 to address the lack of fine French pastries in the Delaware County region.

Ruth will never use trans fats, high fructose corn syrup, or artificial flavorings in any product. Her desserts celebrate the inherent flavors of quality chocolates, fruits, nuts, cream, and butter, without masking them with excessive fat or sugar.

Her confections are currently carried by the Swarthmore Co-Op and are also available by special order (please allow one week). Dinner parties, family get-togethers, holidays, and "just because" days are all perfect occasions for a treat from Sweet Pleasures!
